Douglas County Conservation's yearly plant sale is going on right now. Here's how to reserve healthy native plants.
Plants are ordered online from winter to spring as a presale. Customers then pick up their preorders in the Spring in a one-day pick-up event (date is still to be determined) from 9am to 6pm at the Douglas County Fairgrounds – Kirk Hall. Address is 500 Fairgrounds Road, Castle Rock, CO 80104.
Native and adaptive plants need less maintenance are adapted to local conditions, so they require less water, fertilizer, and pesticides than non-native plants. They also provide food and shelter for a variety of animals, including birds, pollinators, and small mammals.
PRO TIP – There will be additional plants for purchase on Pick Up Day. NO SHIPPING AVAILABLE. Orders not picked up are donated to a local school garden.
