Here's what to expect weather-wise this summer, and how to prepare
The Old Farmer's Almanac forecasts that the summer 2025 could be the hottest on record, potentially surpassing the extreme heat experienced in 2024. The Almanac predicts that July and August will bring above-normal temperatures across most regions, with only a few exceptions.
In addition to the heat, much of the country is expected to see reduced rainfall.
Extreme heat can have devastating consequences, especially in areas like ours prone to drought and wildfire.
To prepare for the heat, the Almanac recommends early preparations such as servicing air conditioners, using shading and ventilation techniques to keep homes cool, inspecting weatherstripping for energy efficiency, and implementing sustainable gardening practices like planting drought-resistant plants and shrubs and using drip irrigation for water conservation.
Make sure your home and landscape are properly prepared for wildfire prevention.
