World‑Class Alpine Collection
One of the highest botanical gardens in North America, dedicated exclusively to alpine and mountain plants from around the globe, the gardens are a a living museum showcasing species from the Himalayas, Alps, South Africa, North America, and more.
Extensive Plant Library
Spanning roughly 5 acres, it includes about 2,000 varieties and over 500 wildflower and alpine species with numerous themed garden areas including:
- Alpine Rock Garden with waterfalls and rugged stone crevices (established 1999)
- Mountain Meditation Garden (1991), designed for tranquil reflection
- Children’s Garden and Schoolhouse Garden for hands-on learning
