National Weather Service says it's possible
Snow is possible in Colorado during August, especially at the higher peaks of the Rockies. The National Weather Service says there were snowflakes on Berthoud Pass last week, when the nighttime temperature dropped to 34 degrees F.
Colorado's mountainous regions, especially areas above 10,000 feet, can experience snowfall even during the summer months. While it's unusual for lower elevations or cities like Denver or Parker to see snow in August, it's not uncommon for mountain peaks and passes to receive light snow during this time due to the cooler temperatures at high altitudes. This snow is typically short-lived and melts quickly, but it’s a reminder of Colorado's diverse and unpredictable weather patterns.
Any sort of significant snows are at least a month or two away, so keep those gardens going strong!
