October Monthly Event Putting your gardens to bed with a potluck at Franktown Fire Station Date: October 20 (Sunday) (no Broncos game that day) Time: 5p - 7p Location: Franktown Fire Station All are welcome! We're about garden community and attendance at our events requires no membership or fees. Bring your friend/spouse/neighbor/kid(s). If location changes you will be notified here and also via member email (subscribe on home page). January - Colorado Bluebird Project presentation with Q & A. Learn how to have productive bluebird boxes on your property. We'll leave plenty of time for a question and answer session. February - Wine, cheese, and chocolate tastings with cheeses made from local purveyors AND a special demonstration on soil blocking. Includes all wine and food tastings. Makers will be giving tastings and selling/taking orders at the event. March - Speaker on strategies to protect your garden beds from hail and cold. (March 23). Stroh Ranch Fire Station. April 13 - Behind the Scenes at Tagawa Gardens 10:30a - 12:30p May 4 - We'll be at the Hilltop Fair off Flintwood and Democrat Roads in Parker selling plants, seedlings, and giving away seeds. 10 - 3pm. Come see us and say hello! May 14 - Free raspberry plants dig May 18 - Tour of Lil Slice of Heaven Homestead greenhouse, gardens, and goats/alpacas. Plants and goat milk products for sale. 10:00am - noon. Bring a chair. June 22 - Garden Club's 1st Annual Summer Solstice Party - see info left July - Tour of Hidden Mesa (just past Cobblestone on Hwy. 83 South). Hidden Mesa grows food for Parker Task Force, maintains the mini-botanic garden at the historic cabin onsite, and grows trees, shrubs, and plants for Douglas County needs. The gardens will be in full swing this month and there is a LOT to see and learn about! August - Tour of two expert gardeners' extensive landscape and vegetable gardens. September - All the ways to use herbs October - Putting your gardens to bed with a gardening community potluck. November - no event this month December - holiday party with thoughtfully curated gifts to be raffled off! Desserts and drinks provided by BFGC. |
