We have another exciting lineup of events for you this year!
2024 Calendar of Events
January - Colorado Bluebird Project presentation with Q & A. Learn how to have productive bluebird boxes on your property. We'll leave plenty of time for a question and answer session.
February - Wine and Cheese tasting with cheeses made from member Jim Bennett's goats. This will be held in a member's home and all wine and food tastings will be provided. We ask for a $3 donation at the door, and you can order your favorite cheeses from Jim at the event!
March - past-president Dennis Volz will demonstrate best practices for seed starting using soil blocking and we'll have a speaker on strategies to protect your garden beds from hail and cold.
April - Behind the Scenes at Tagawa Gardens (tentative)
May - Tour of Colorado Garden Consulting greenhouse, gardens, and goats. There will be plants for sale (tomatoes, flowers, herbs, and more), and goat milk products (lotions, soaps etc.) for sale.
June - tentative - tour or workshop at Prairie Hill Farm Co. in Parker. Flower growing operation and event florists.
July - Tour of Master Gardener-run Hidden Mesa (just past Cobblestone on Hwy. 83 South). Hidden Mesa grows food for Parker Task Force, maintains the mini-botanic garden at the historic cabin onsite, and grows trees, shrubs, and plants for Douglas County needs. The gardens will be in full swing this month and there is a LOT to see and learn about!
August - Tour of three expert gardeners' extensive landscape and vegetable gardens. Locations to be announced.
September - tentative - behind the scenes tour of Chatfield Farms.
October - Chili Dump. Bring your best chili and dump it in with everyone else's (trust us, it tastes amazing). This is a fun way to gather with Garden Club friends and celebrate Fall.
November - no event this month
December - holiday party with thoughtfully curated gifts to be raffled off! Desserts and drinks provided by BFGC.
