Deciduous shrubs play an important role in the environment as well as in our landscapes. Some uses beyond their beauty and their interaction with the greater environment include attracting birds and butterflies by offering food and shelter.
All of the shrubs in the following list lose their leaves during winter, but have lovely blooms and beautiful fall color. Additionally, they are non-invasive and do very well in our climate.
These are excellent as natural privacy screens and provide cover for small birds.
