This invasive, noxious weed is already showing up in our area.
Leafy spurge displaces native grasses and is widespread in Colorado.
Controlling/eradicating this invasive species takes effort - but the benefit of getting it off of your property and Colorado lands is worth it.
Several methods of elimination are out there - we prefer old fashioned manually pulling the weeks on a regular basis to keep them from spreading.
For those with a large amount of the weed, insecticides or herbicides are recommended (by CSU). Or you can try hiring a local goat or sheep herd to help with the problem. Sheep and goats are very effective at reducing biomass on an annual basis when leafy spurge is grazed to a moderate to severe level during the flowering stage of growth.
CSU has recommendations for best kinds of herbicides to use and methods of application in this link:
CSU Herbicide recommendations can be found here.
