A thirty minute drive brings you to wildflower heaven
A visit to Lincoln Mountain Open Space this week netted a huge surprise - a plethora of wildflowers!
Lincoln Mountain has breathtaking views of Pikes Peak, Rampart Range, and the entire eastern plains of Douglas County. The trail takes visitors through the fields to a forested and rocky pass (easy) up to the flat top. The variety of terrain and views are hard to beat.
The trails are easy and of varying distances, and there are few visitors, so you can be out in nature virtually alone with the flowers, birds, and big blue sky.
