Did you know that removing tree limbs, shrubs and brush from your property is essential for wildfire risk reduction? Good news – Douglas County has the perfect place to dispose of this unwanted slash – for free.
Douglas County’s slash-mulch site, at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock, is open on Saturdays only from 8a – 5p through October.
Please keep in mind that while the slash site offers mulch for free - wood mulch can be a wildfire starter and the Garden Club recommends using rock mulch to drastically reduce wildfire risk around your home and neighbors homes.
