Gardening is a healthy but sometimes strenuous activity. You already know to wear nicely-fitting gloves, a sunhat, long-sleeve shirt, and decent shoes for any foray into the garden or landscape, but remember these also:
- Maintain good posture to ease strain on your back. Use your legs more instead.
- Take breaks to stretch and drink water. A little done a lot will go a long way in not getting sore, and your joints will appreciate both the stretching and the water.
- Safety or Sun glasses. I don't like to wear sunglasses while gardening, so I don clear safety glasses instead to keep flying dust and bits of debris out of my eyes and the eye area.
- Sunscreen. You live in Colorado at altitude, so you already know what to do :-)
