Our speaker is local landscape designer Carole Kastler of Camelot Design. Camelot has been a Colorado landscape design studio for over 35 years (and this presentation and Q&A session will be awesome)!
In a recent interview with Carole ahead of the meeting, we gleaned some valuable tips for readying your property, and your mind, for creating a fresh new "do" for your yard, including the number one trick before beginning the process: edit.
Free your outdoor environment of unnecessary stuff so you can see it more clearly. Take a walk around your landscape and remove all of the 'noise' (garden tchotchkes, wind spinners, gnomes, small fountains, unneeded fences and trellises and general yard clutter (old wood pieces, pots laying around etc.).
Once you get rid of the clutter, you'll find the good stuff - a clearer picture of what you want to stay or get rid of once and for all. This is the perfect jumping off point to 'seeing' the yard and gardens so you can grow something fresh and wonderful that makes you happy to look at every day.
Looking forward to seeing you on January 19th. There will be warm cookies and wonderful garden-folk to meet.
