Without these you'll probably get weak and sad looking plants with with smaller leaves, fewer flowers, and poor color.
Use an all-around fertilizer that says 10-10-10 (signifying the big three nutrients) such as Miracle Grow on perennials, veggies, ornamental grasses, ground-covers, and your container plants.Follow the instructions on the label (about 2 TBSP per 2 gallons of water or use the provided sprayer with the bag of granules also provided).
Feed every two weeks during June, July and August. Fertilizing after a nice rain is an optimal time because the food soaks further down into the soil to the roots where it does the most good.
Remember to deadhead regularly to help the plant thrive and put out new growth.
